1 Dari 4 Pengguna Internet Bajak Lagu


Sebuah laporan tahunan tentang pembajakan musik di dunia maya menunjukkan sebanyak 28 persen pengguna Internet di seluruh dunia mengunduh lagu secara ilegal setiap bulannya. Annual digital music report yang dirilis International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) menyatakan pembajakan ini membahayakan investasi di dunia musik dan jejaring pasar untuk menyediakan lagu yang legal.

Uniknya kendati aksi pembajakan musik digital tergolong tinggi, jumlah pendapatan yang diperoleh perusahaan rekaman juga semakin meningkat. "Sebanyak 32 persen dari pendapatan perusahaan rekaman diperoleh dari penjualan lagu digital," kata Frances Moore, CEO IFPI, seperti dikutip Telegraph, Selasa, 24 Januari 2012.
Jumlah pendapatan total dari transaksi musik digital naik sebesar delapan persen menjadi US$ 5,2 miliar. Moore berpendapat untuk memerangi pembajakan musik digital perlu regulasi antipembajakan dan kerja sama yang kuat antarperusahaan rekaman, mesin pencari, dan pengiklan.
Lembaga ini menyarankan para pengakses Internet untuk mengunduh lagu digital dari layanan resmi seperti Spotify atau pasar aplikasi pada platform tertentu, misalnya Apple iTunes, dan lainnya.
